If you have planned a vacation to Venice in the near future, you should put it off first. Now the city is famous for river travel is experiencing flooding.

This phenomenon is known as Acqua Alta has hit the city of Venice since Monday, October 15, 2012. Venice authorities are now implementing a yellow alert, and call on all citizens and tourists to be careful.

Quoted from the Telegraph, Saturday (20/10) nine per cent part of Venice is under water with the water level average adult calf. And the surface is expected to be up to 105 centimeters.

Even the town square of Venice, St Mark's Square, which used to be where tourists congregate also been flooded. Expected, flooding will occur during November and December.

Based on the record, this year the city of Venice recently experienced something like this. Phenomenon of acqua alta generally only cause huge ocean waves in the sea off Venice.

Wave height 1.53 meters above sea level recorded in 1867.
